Top 5 Android Travel and Local Apps in Africa - Q1 2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw interesting trends for the top 5 Travel and Local apps on the Android platform in Africa. Data from Sensor Tower reveals insights into weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for these leading apps.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a noticeable decrease in weekly downloads, dropping from approximately 75K in early January to around 28K by the end of March. Active users showed a similar pattern, decreasing from about 668K to 641K over the quarter.

Google Earth maintained a relatively stable performance. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, starting at around 29K and ending at approximately 21K. Active users remained consistent, with figures hovering around 294K throughout the quarter.

Airbnb saw a significant drop in weekly downloads, starting at around 34K in early January and declining to about 12K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from roughly 197K to 179K during the same period.

Mobile Number Locator witnessed an impressive growth in weekly downloads, rising from around 18K at the beginning of January to approximately 21K by the end of March. Active users also increased significantly, from about 74K to 149K over the quarter.

Find my Phone - Family Locator exhibited a strong performance in terms of weekly downloads, with numbers growing from 11K to around 17K. Revenue also showed an upward trend, peaking at approximately $2.5K in late February. Active users increased from around 21K to 27K throughout the quarter.
